So, how to use a tourniquet?

When using a tourniquet, it should be tied above the bleeding wound of the extremities (to the extent that it can stop the bleeding), and the affected limb should be raised for several minutes in advance, and a towel or soft tissue should be placed locally to prevent tissue abrasion. After using a tourniquet, the blood supply to the tissue below the ligation site is interrupted, which can easily lead to tissue ischemia over time. Necrosis, so the time for tying the blood band should not be too long, and it should be relaxed every 30 minutes, about half a minute to one minute each time, to allow blood to circulate. For this reason, there should be a clear mark on the place where the tourniquet is applied, indicating the time when the tourniquet is applied, so as to facilitate the transfer, and the receiving unit can relax it accordingly and make necessary treatment.

Bandaging is often used in trauma first aid. At present, bandages are commonly used for dressing small wounds, and triangular bandages are used for dressing large wounds. Bandage dressing method: Bandages are usually divided into two types: hard bandages and soft bandages. Hard bandages are made by sprinkling gypsum powder on the bandages made in the city and drying to form plaster bandages. Here, we mainly talk about soft bandages.

a. sticky paste (ie adhesive plaster).
b. Reel bandage: Rolled with gauze, it is the most widely used and most convenient type of bandage. The general length is 5 meters, and the width is determined according to the needs.
When in use, the rescuer faces the wounded, takes a suitable position, first covers the wound with sterile gauze, then holds the bandage head with the left hand, and the bandage roll with the right hand, and sticks the outside of the bandage to the local area, usually from left to right, from bottom to bottom wind up. The bandage should not be too tight, so as not to cause local swelling, and should not be too loose, so as not to slip off. Generally, the arms are bent and tied (elbows bent), and the legs are tied straight to maintain the functional position of the limbs.
