GERMANTOWN, Md. A Montgomery County police officer is being credited with saving a shooting victim's life in Germantown on Sunday night.
After responding to a call on Neerwinder Street and Waters Landing Drive, officers learned from the victim's brother a man had been shot.
Police say a trail of blood in the grass led them to the victim who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators say the two suspects ran from the scene.
Body camera video obtained first by FOX 5`s Tisha Lewis shows Montgomery County Police Officer Kyle Berry applying a tourniquet to the victim`s leg, along with extensive bandaging.
The victim "was concerned," Officer Berry said and kept asking for the paramedics.
"We assured him that they were on their way, and we were doing everything we could to treat his injuries prior to them getting there," he said.
Once they arrived, he was taken to a nearby hospital and is currently in stable condition.
